The Plain English Summary
When you edit an image, merge a PDF, calculate taxes, or convert a file on ToolBuddy, your files are processed directly inside your browser using HTML5 Canvas, Web Workers, and WebAssembly. Your files are never transmitted to, inspected by, or stored on our servers. We do not require accounts, we do not ask for your phone number, and we do not sell personal data.
1. Local Browser-Side Processing (Zero Cloud Uploads)
Unlike conventional web-based conversion services that require you to upload your files to a cloud server before returning a download link, ToolBuddy operates locally in your web browser:
- Images & Graphics: Operations including resizing, cropping, compression, filters, format conversions (JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, HEIC, SVG), DPI calculations, and color extraction are executed entirely in your device's memory via HTML5 Canvas and browser APIs.
- PDF Documents: Merging, splitting, page extraction, compression, text extraction, page numbering, and watermarking are executed via client-side WebAssembly and JavaScript engines.
- Calculators & Generators: GST, TDS, invoice generation, UPI QR generation, passwords, UUIDs, and WhatsApp links calculate instantaneously within your client application.
Once you close or refresh your browser tab, the temporary volatile memory (RAM) used to perform these transformations is automatically cleared by your browser.
2. Information We Do Not Collect
To ensure total peace of mind, our service is deliberately engineered not to collect:
- No user accounts, passwords, or personal profile credentials.
- No file content, text transcripts, image pixels, or PDF document data.
- No government tax identifiers, PAN numbers, or GSTINs typed into calculators.
- No bank account numbers or UPI PINs (UPI QR codes are constructed client-side).
- No biometric or facial recognition data.
3. Information We May Collect Automatically
Like almost every website, when you visit ToolBuddy, our hosting infrastructure may automatically log standard, non-personally identifiable technical information:
- Device & Browser Metadata: Browser type, operating system version, preferred language, screen resolution, and referring URL to ensure proper layout rendering.
- Aggregated Usage & Tag Management: We use Google Tag Manager (
GTM-N8XH2CJ4) to manage aggregated site telemetry, page view counts, popular tool visits, and network error rates used solely to monitor site health, prevent denial-of-service abuse, and fix broken links. Google Tag Manager never accesses or transmits any files, text, or inputs you process inside our tools. - Anonymized IP Addresses: Server logs may temporarily record IP addresses for firewall rate-limiting and security audits. These logs are rotated and deleted automatically.
4. Cookies and Local Storage
ToolBuddy uses modern browser storage mechanisms (localStorage) strictly to save user preferences, such as your chosen color theme (light/dark mode) or interface configuration. These stay locally on your machine and can be cleared at any time through your browser settings.

5. Advertising, Google Tag Manager & Third-Party Service Providers
To maintain all 90+ tools on ToolBuddy completely free without charging subscriptions or pay-per-use fees, we display unobtrusive advertisements served by Google AdSense (Publisher ID: ca-pub-6145054414842814, authorized in our /ads.txt declaration) and manage site measurement tags through Google Tag Manager (Container ID: GTM-N8XH2CJ4).
Third-party advertising vendors, including Google, use cookies (such as the DoubleClick DART cookie) to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites on the internet. Because ToolBuddy does not process, store, or profile personal data on servers, the risk to user rights is structurally minimized. Where applicable, our legal basis for processing technical telemetry is legitimate interest in maintaining site availability and security.

We do not sell, rent, or monetize your personal information or uploaded file data to data brokers or third parties.
Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDP - India)
We adhere strictly to data minimization principles. Tools for Indian businesses (GST invoices, UPI QR codes, quotations) generate documents solely within your device storage.
7. Security & Data Retention
The most secure server is one that holds no data. Because your documents and images are manipulated directly in your browser's sandboxed runtime, a theoretical database breach on our servers could never expose your private documents, family photographs, or business finances.
